Creatorshazel: A large inspiration for my making this site, honestly. Extremely sincere explorations of weird animanga and games, with a healthy heaping of media preservation. Every single video is so full of heart, care, and genuine curiosity about even the oddest stories, and it’s infectious — you’ll end up genuinely wanting to watch “Butt Attack Punisher Girl” after viewing. Check out her music as well!
Personal highlights: My Hunt For A Nearly Lost 90s Anime, Who Was Responsible For This Anime?, a normal creepypasta retrospective
ContraPoints: Emotional, mental, spiritual, visual, and sometimes psychosexual odysseys exploring what makes humans tick through lenses of politics, identity, and Twilight. This summary doesn’t even capture the pure energy, impact, meaning, and fucking insanity packed into sometimes only an hour of video. It’s also really fucking pretentious, but I feel Miz Points deserves all the flowery language in the world; truly, I cannot express how much her videos mean to me. They’re smart and critical but also extremely empathetic, asking you to for a moment think a little deeper about those you disagree with or simply write off as crazy — even when those people are yourself. Also, they’re fucking hilarious. As one commenter’s mother so wisely put it: “She dresses up to give you facts.”
Personal highlights: CONSPIRACY, Cringe, Envy, The Witch Trials of J.K. Rowling
hbomberguy: The video essayist to end all video essayists. Wildly entertaining and well-spoken, as well as endlessly rewatchable — which is great, because he makes about one video per calendar year now. The several hours of unhinged content that they hold is well worth every wait, though, and even his oldest videos still hold up in every way. I don’t have anything more to say; so I’ll just repeat again: these videos are so much fun; completely hilarious but appropriately serious when necessary for the topic. Can’t wait to see what this year’s video brings!
Personal highlights: Sherlock is Garbage And Here’s Why, Flat Earth: A Measured Response, Vaccines and Autism: A Measured Response, Plagiarism and You(Tube)
BobbyBroccoli: Have you ever stopped to wonder about what insane beef has gone down in scientific research circles? Do you know anything about cold fusion, particle accelerators, or human cloning? Do you care about the history of the Canadian economy? No to all? Great, you’ll love this channel. Strikes a perfect balance between education and entertainment, with very minimal jargon in the mix. Oh, and just some insanely gorgeous and intricate editing - the way the videos are constructed is captivating both visually and emotionally. Go forth, and learn way more than you ever wanted to know about physics.
Personal highlights: The man who tried to fake an element, The man who faked human cloning (first of two parts), The Men Who Promised the Impossible: Unlimited Energy (first of three parts)

ViewingThe Knives Out duology (soon to be trilogy): Holy shit, these movies are fucking awesome. Two very different murder mysteries that still fit together tonally, and not just because of their main character; in fact, I’d say Benoit Blanc’s character is the least important in both of them. Both are tightly written, hilarious, and intriguing — and literally infinitely rewatchable, because you catch more of the bread crumbs every time. I’m not a connoisseur of thriller or murder mystery, but I do think these both movies novel twists on the usual format and tropes you’ll find while still remaining true to The Vibes. Dialogue and character writing is impeccable — you kind of fucking hate most of the characters, but it is so, so, so fun to do, because they’re so real. Every single actor is perfectly cast, every scene perfectly shot…oh, and the soundtracks are banger. I’m foaming at the mouth waiting for Wake Up Dead Man.
The Crowded Room: A fever dream of a mini-series that executes its plot way better than I was expecting it to. Achingly personal and emotional, and hit home in ways I wasn’t prepared for. Beautifully colored and shot. Tom Holland is of course amazing, but all the other actors shine too. I don’t think it’s for everyone, but if it resonates with you, it will be meaningful.
Challengers: What is there to say that hasn’t already been said? An insanely fun and hot concept that delivers on those things, but also so much more. Is sex tennis or is tennis sex? More at 8. Mike Faist will never fail to perfectly play a desperate and mentally unwell man. Also, Zendaya’s character is (IMO) insanely underappreciated — beautifully written and acted. Really good soundtrack as well.
ListeningFuneral (メル/Mel): A sweet 40 minutes full of songs that feel like warm hugs. Mel, of Town of Jade and Goodbye, Ms. Flower Thief fame, writes some of the most beautiful lyrics I have ever read. Miku’s soft voicebank and v flower, two of my all-time favorite voice banks, are the singers used. Probably my favorite vocal synth album, even though there’s nothing particularly special about it — it feels like a warm patch of sun on a quiet day.
Favorite songs: Yoru no Fuchi, Golden Journey, Requiem
The Awakening (composed by Joseph M. Martin): My favorite piece of choral music ever composed, probably. Everything about it is beautiful, from the piano to the lyrics. I had the honor of performing it at Carnegie Hall (March 2025)! Atlanta Master Chorale’s 2016 performance.
Voulez-Vous (ABBA): ABBA’s best album, in my personal (and very correct) opinion. Contains some of their greatest hits, such as the titular Voulez-Vous and Does Your Mother Know, but also some less known bangers. Full of unique sound (violins and intense bass, oo la la!) while still keeping the ever-perfect ABBA-ness of it all. I fucking love ABBA.
Favorite songs: As Good as New, Does Your Mother Know, Chiquitita, Lovers (Live a Little Longer), Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)
